Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel: Eldlich deck profile

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel: Eldlich deck profile

Here is our recommended Eldlich deck profile. The deck consists of a total of 40 Main Deck cards and 15 Extra Deck monsters:

The primary aim of the Eldlich deck is to get its primary boss monster, Eldlich the Golden Lord, on the field within the first turn. From there, the deck’s high proportion of trap cards - including control cards like Skill Drain and Gozen Match, whose primary aim is to prevent your opponent from being able to perform any counter-moves - are used in the deck to ensure Eldlich remains on the field. If it is destroyed, the effect of Eldlich the Golden Lord allows it to summon itself back onto the field at the minimal cost of sending one spell or trap card you control from the field to the graveyard.

Many Eldlich cards, such asEldlixer of Black Awakeningand Eldlich the Golden Lord, can be obtained in the Immortal Royaltysecret packs. To create a cheaper version of this deck, consider using different cards within the extra deck. While monsters likeSuperdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max, Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus - Sky Thunder, Imduk the World Chalice Dragon, Vampire Hunterand a number of other Extra Deck monsters are effective options in certain situations, the Extra Deck is less important for Eldlich compared to other meta decks. Since you will rely on the Extra Deck far less, many of the options within it could be considered beneficial rather than essential. Indeed, some cards will be used primarily as fodder forPot of ExtravaganceorDogmatika Punishment.

As such, if you wish to replace some of these cards with lower-rarity alternatives likeShark FortressorSkypalace Gangaridai, this is also an option.

To win using an Eldlich deck in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, it is imperative that you summon Eldlich the Golden Lord in your first turn if possible. Aim to go first if you win the coin toss, as the deck’s large number of negation effects in the form of hand traps and cards like Skill Drain and Solemn Judgement can stall your opponent, if it becomes impossible to get Eldlich onto the field in your opening turn.

If you have Eldlixer of Black Awakening in your opening hand, activate this card’s effect to summon a copy of Eldlich the Golden Lord from your deck. This should be done even if you already have a copy in your hand. This allows this second copy to be summoned later in the same turn or the following turn, and avoids wasting resources.

It is possible to summon Eldlich the Golden Lord using solely its own effects, provided there is another card on the field, by doing the following:

Not only does this allow you to summon Eldlich the Golden Lord to the field, but it also gains 1000 attack and defense until the end of your opponent’s next turn. With the large number of spell and trap cards you run while using this deck, the cost is insubstantial, and prioritizing sending Golden Land or Eldlich cards to the graveyard allows them to activate additional effects. For example, sendingCursed Eldlandto the graveyard at step 3 allows you to send a Golden Land or Eldlich card from the deck to the graveyard, setting you up for the following turn.

After ensuring you have summoned Eldlich the Golden Lord to the field, you can take advantage of the effects of Golden Land spell and trap cards to prevent your opponent from countering them.Huaquero of the Golden LandandConquistador of the Golden Landcan both be used without Eldlich on the field to summon itself as a level 5 normal monster. When Eldlich the Golden Lord is on the field, however, these cards both gain additional effects: Conquistador can destroy one face-up card on the field while Huaquero can banish one card from either graveyard.

Key to success is using cards like Vanity’s Emptiness, Skill Drain and Imperial Order to prevent your opponent from countering once you have built up a strong board. With many counter cards in the Eldlich deck being trap cards, it is, in turn, most effective when going first.

The control nature of the Eldlich deck makes it less reliant on the Extra Deck than other meta decks whose boss monsters are typically XYZ and Link monsters that utilize it efficiently. In fact, on many occasions, your only use for the Extra Deck will be to banish select cards from it for the effect of cards like Pot of Extravagance, without summoning monsters from it. This is what allows you to use traps likeVanity’s Emptinesswithout worrying about its impact on your own combos.

Still, some monsters in the Extra Deck are useful in select circumstances.Imduk the World Chalice Dragoncan overcome any monster your opponent controls thanks to its effect that allows it to destroy a monster it enters battle with at the start of the Damage Step. This can also be summoned to the field very easily thanks to only requiring one normal monster toLink Summon, which includes Huaquero or Conquistador of the Golden Land.

The Extra Deck can be useful for finding uses for these trap card normal monsters after their effects have been activated upon summon. Alongside Link Summoning, if you control two of these monsters, you canXYZ SummonConstellar Pleiades, allowing you to use its effect to return one card on the field to the hand. In some circumstances it may be useful to summonConstellar Ptolemy M7over the top of Pleiades for additional attack, however its effect cannot be activated the turn you summon the monster in this manner.

Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Maxis an effective card for ending the duel if you have two Eldlich the Golden Lord monsters on the field at once. If, after the battle phase, your opponent’s life points are low, you can XYZ summon this monster in Main Phase 2 and use its effect to deal 2000 damage to your opponent’s life points.

In some circumstances with two Eldlich the Golden Lord on the field, you can utilize this combo during your Main Phase 1 for an effective OTK:

Through this effect, you have the ability to inflict 8000 damage to your opponent’s life points easily, in most cases ending the match unless they gained life points earlier in the duel.

In most circumstances, however, victory can be assured without relying on these Extra Deck monsters and strategies. Sometimes it may not be an effective use of resources to summon monsters from the Extra Deck monsters instead of keeping Eldlich on the field, particularly if you have Skill Drain active. Consider what is best based on your opponent and the current duel before using monsters in your Extra Deck.
