Alternatives:Primordial Jade Cutter (5-star), Blackcliff Longsword or The Black Sword (4-stars)
Ayaka’s damage is at its best with theMistsplitter Reforged, a new 5-star weapon released alongside Inazuma that grants hefty elemental DMG bonuses. ThePrimordial Jade Cutteris also a great 5-star option that will buff Ayaka’s HP and scale an ATK bonus off of her raised HP. If you don’t have access to 5-stars, try the 4-starBlackcliff LongswordorThe Black Sword, which offer different buffs to Ayaka’s CRIT stats.
Alternative:Gladiator’s Finale
As Ayaka is a Cryo DPS, you’ll want to aim for theBlizzard Strayerset as it grants hefty Cryo DMG bonuses. If you have a Hydro character on your team to help apply the Frozen status to enemies, a 4 piece Blizzard Strayer set will be your best friend.Gladiator’s Finaleis also a more accessible option that is strong at the 4-star level.
When choosing which substats to prioritize, focus on CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. ATK% and Elemental Mastery can also go a long way. Aim for an artifact stat set-up that looks something like this:

This party composition focuses on making the most of Ayaka’s Cryo DPS attacks withelemental reactions, weakening enemies to make them more vulnerable to follow-up normal attacks with her sword. The Kamisato Clan has been designed pretty well to fight together, so pairing up Ayaka with her loyal servantThomaand beloved brotherAyatogives her access to the Freeze and Melt reactions, which are some of the most powerful elemental offenses in the game. However, if you can’t get hold of these two (Ayato in particular can be tricky given his 5-star status), basically any Hydro and Pyro character who’s decent on DPS or sub-DPS will do the job nicely. I draw particular attention toXingqiu, who’s basically Ayato’s 4-star equivalent, and one of the best 4-star characters in the game overall.
Any of Genshin’s three main 4-star healers (Barbara,Bennett, orDiona) round out this team quite nicely thanks to their elements reacting powerfully with Cryo. But I recommend Diona for this party (despite her being the weakest of the three overall), simply because her Cryo element combines with Ayaka’s for the Shattering Ice resonance, which passively increases the party’s crit rate by 15% against Frozen or Cryo-affected enemies, which ideally your enemies will be much of the time when playing with this composition. As a nice bonus, it reduces the time the party spends vulnerable to Electro reactions by 40%.

You’ll need to farm the Perpetual Mechanical Array as well as Nobushi and plenty of materials around Inazuma. If you haven’tmade it to Inazumayet, though, you’ll be stuck without some of her materials until you get there.
To fully level up all three of Ayaka’s talents, you’ll need 9 Teachings of Elegance, 63 Guides to Elegance, 114 Philosophies of Elegance, 18 Old Handguards, 66 Kageuchi Handguards, 93 Famed Handguards, 18 Bloodjade Branches, and 3 Crowns of Insight. Per every one talent, that comes out to:
Handguards can be farmed from Inazuma’s Nobushi enemies, just like for Ayaka’s ascensions. Ayaka’s Elegance books are obtainable from Inazuma’s Violet Court domain, where they drop on Tuesdays/Fridays/Sundays. Bloodjade Branches come from reliving the Azhdaha boss fight in the “Beneath the Dragon-Queller” trounce domain at Lvl 70+. Finally, Crowns of Insight can be obtained through limited-time events or by making offerings to the Frostbearing Tree and the Sacred Sakura.
