Kiryu’s back, baby

Ryu Ga Gotoku said that the RPG system from Yakuza: Like A Dragon would return, even though the game features everyone’s favourite gangland brawler Kiryu. The reason for keeping Like A Dragon 8 an RPG was credited to the importance of working with the game’s characters throughout the story, which was a key part of Yakuza: Like A Dragon too. During the game, we’ll get to find out why Kiryu’s had such a drastic makeover. He’ll also debut a new fighting style.

The Ryu Ga Gotoku summit stream revealed that feudal Japan spin-off Like A Dragon: Ishin! will function as a Yakuza All-Stars too, of sorts. The remake of Ishin! wasannouncedat yesterday’s Sony State Of Play event, and will be coming to the West for the first time. The studio said that characters from every Yakuza game up to Yakuza: Like A Dragon are being brought into Ishin! It’ll also feature other recognisable elements from previous games, such as songs. Baka Mitai, perhaps?
