After being delayed due to “world events” Adventure platformerLittle Orpheuswas meant to launch on PC back in March but was delayed at the last minute. At the time, the announcement said the decision to delay was taken"in light of recent events", referencing without directly naming the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Well, as of today, Little Orpheus, which is a scifi adventure about a Soviet cosmonaut in 1962, has been released....

Prepare your Steam Decks for some moral quandaries Square Enix have confirmed that their hitherto Switch-exclusive turn-based tactics RPGTriangle Strategywill be coming to PC on October 13th. The announcement was buried amongst a whole bundle of other JRPG information from today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast. You’ll have to make do with the Switch trailer below for now, I’m afraid, because Squeenix haven’t released a PC one yet. Switch players have been able to wrangle with Triangle Strategy since March, but we don’t have long to wait until it’s available on the ol’ personal computers....

It’ll probably come to PC eventually During this evening’s State Of Play livestream, Team Ninja announced their next game. Rise Of The Ronin is an open world game set in Japan in the wake of country opening its borders to the West, with the trailer showing hang gliding, horse riding, rooftop stealth, and combat involving both swords and guns. It’s also referred to as a “console exclusive” for PlayStation, which means it’ll probably come to PC....

Not the small studio you might expect from the label The next EA Original has been announced, and it’s coming from Koei Tecmo and Omega Force, developers of theDynasty Warriorsseries. Set in Japan during its feudal period but with a fantasy twist, EA and Koei Tecmo describe the as-yet-untitled project as “the next great hunting game”. Dispel those mental images oftheHunter: Call Of The Wildand Big Buck Hunter though, because it sounds like this is more in the vein of hack-and-slash monster hunting shenanigans....

Cel-shading and multiplayer return Here’s a trailer of the new version: The update also re-introduces online multiplayer for 2-13 players, a feature of the original game but not the remake.The news post on Steamalso promises that the update enhances the AI, reworks the HUD and revamps the sound design of the remake. Watching the trailer above, the remake does look better than it did before, although I’m still surprised that so much effort has been put into revising a remake to a game that was just-okay when it was released nearly twenty years ago....

What could have been TheSteam Deckis finally releasing across Asia this month, and ahead of its appearance at theTokyo Game Show(complete withunnervingly large replicaof the handheld), Valve held their own launch event with adisplay of several prototype designs. Unlike the mere low-res images ofabandoned Steam Deck designs we’ve already seen, however, these were mostly functional PC gaming machines. Playing both sides I did a lot of talking at Gamescom, whether that be to developers or muttering to myself deliriously as I typed stuff up in the evening. Talking to devs especially is a wonderful thing, especially when you’re playing their game and it resonates with you. Update: Ubisoft say that the rating was an error Assassin’s Creed: Mirage’s age rating is leading to some speculation on forumResetErathat it could feature gambling for real-world money, following the game’s reveal during the Ubisoft Forward event. An ESRB 18+ rating that lists “real gambling” appears to be in effect for the upcoming back-to-basics Assassin’s Creed set in 9th century Baghdad.
