Valve issue feature-filled Steam Deck software update, unbreak Ubisoft launcher games

Ubisoft Connect and SteamOS had a falling out Last night was a restless one for theSteam Deck. In addition to ahuge client updatefor the handheld PC, Valve pushed out a Proton Experimental update to fix a crashing problem with games that use the Ubisoft Connect launcher on Steam. Ubi’s launcher had received an update of its own, sadly one that interfered with the ability of Proton – the layer of software that helps made-for-Windows games run on the Linux-based SteamOS – to keep it compatible with the Deck....

A new expansion sees Jett become the soaring sci-fi open world it was meant to be

Given Time has made The Far Shore blossom beautifully into its final form. “Once the story finished, I hoped an endgame would open up and allow me to play freely in its world,” I wrote in ourJett review. “That I’d have more opportunities to watch great Ghoke, the red sun, rise in real time, and to ponder the Far Shore’s fascinating mysteries at length. Instead, I could only replay previous chapters....

AMD's fastest AM4 gaming CPU, the 5800X3D, is down to a new low of $323

A great choice for anyone using an AM4 motherboard and an earlier-gen Ryzen CPU. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D has hit a new low price in the US, falling to $323 on Amazon. That’s lower than the best price we saw during Black Friday last year, and a great value for the fastest gaming CPU available on the venerable AM4 platform. I’ve covered this CPU in detail quite a few times, thanks to its unique combination of extremely strong gaming performance and compatibility with affordable AM4 motherboards and DDR4 RAM, so let’s keep this relatively brief....

Whether cop or robber, you’ll benefit from the freebies these codes get you Looking for the latest Da Hood codes for free cash and more? It’s my understanding that kids these days love to turn Roblox into GTA Online, and one of the most popular and enduring examples of this unofficial sub-genre isDa Hood. A self-described “difficult game”, Da Hood splits players into groups of cops and robbers on a volunteer basis, and then lets them loose in the world with the simple goal of accruing as much cash and/or power for themselves as they can....

Even in single-player, Redfall is an always-online game

(Red)Falling over Arkane’s co-op, vampire huntin’ shooter is only a couple of months away, but there’s some eyebrow-raising news inRedfallland. On top of being a vampire-filled hellscape, Redfall will also require an always-online connection, even when playing the game in single-player without buddies. This comes courtesy of aBethesda FAQpage that states a “persistent connection is required” for co-op and single-player, and that a Bethesda.net account is also necessary to play the game....

Have you played... Jigsaw Puzzle Dreams

Every day I’m puzzlin' I’m running out of pictures to use when I write aboutJigsaw Puzzle Dreamsbecause I’ve only completed two puzzles in it. I’ve been doing the third one for about a year, because it’s, I think, six thousand pieces. I say “i think” because it’s been long enough that I can’t remember if I told the game to generate it as five or six thousand. But it’s a lot of thousand....

If you enjoyed Pentiment, Inkulinati’s cheeky ink-based strategy is a great history lesson

Medieval mayhem Where Pentiment’s art syle is used to reflect the time period, Yaka Games are really embracing the humour that these monks from the Middle ages had with Inkulinati. Its childish jokes come straight from the hundreds of medieval marginalia the team has pored over and brought to brilliant, animated reality. And these monks wereRUDE. I wonder what the 16th-century monks would say if they saw their memes being brought to life 700 years later....

Playing Monster Train dev's new co-op roguelike with pals is going to be harder than I thought

RPS Treehouse friends have opened my eyes I’ve played Shiny Shoe’s upcoming roguelikeInkboundonce before, and not only is it markedly different to their previous gameMonster Train, but it also featured the snappiest turn-based combat I’d seen. With that in mind, I dove into the game’s recent technical test with fellow RPS Treehouse-dwellers Ollie and James to sample the game at a more leisurely pace, and to draw upon their greater strategic expertise....

RPS GOTY Revisited: 2010's Minecraft is the ultimate survival sandbox

Block party RPS GOTY Revisitedis all about revisiting our previous games of the year to see how they hold up today. Did the RPS Hivemind get it right back then? Or has time told a different story? In fact, I think I could take her Portal revisited intro, replace every instance of “Portal” with “Minecraft”, and call it a day. It’s Minecraft! Of course it was game of the year. It was arguably the game of the decade, an absolute all timer....
