“Terrors beyond comprehension”, you say? With release just a couple of weeks away on 13th October,Lords of the Fallenhas a new gameplay overview trailer. It’s a dripping, cheesily VO-d cinematic layer cake of gore and gristle that introduces you to the game’s god-blighted fantasy world and the many different ways you’ll expire within it - from having a boss inconsiderately drop a load of golden swords on you, to getting mobbed by underworld spooks according to an escalating “dread” level, which is sort of GTA’s old heat system but with more Grim Reapers....

The good kind of feature creep Stardew Valley’s next update will bring a new major festival, support for 8-player multiplayer, and over 100 new lines of dialogue. The full list of additions also includes two mini festivals, new late-game content which expands on “each of the skill areas”, new items and crafting recipes, and winter clothing for the villagers....

Four DLC in total planned Delightful destructive heist simTeardownis getting four paid DLCs, with the first to be released on November 15th. It’s called Time Campers and will transport players back in time with a caravan to tackle new heists with “old-timey tools and architecture” in the Wild West. Time Campers will include a series of missions in a similar vein to the base game, and much of its additions will also be available in Teardown’s Sandbox mode....

Sucking with style V Rising was built upon an experimental version of Unity which has since hit 1.0, but which Stunlock say they haven’t been able to update until now. They’re now working on applying those engine upgrades, which they hope will “overcome previous limitations with optimization and pave the way for a smoother game experience,” and that new development tools will allow them to test and iterate on “level and gameplay design in a more organized, quick, and efficient way....

Players found a mysterious trail of breadcrumbs… then modded their way to the end Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update arrived last week alongside new (andtruly excellent) expansion Phantom Liberty, bringing ahost of tweaks and improvementsin an impressive climax to the originally technically-troubled and artistically-questionable game’squite staggering redemption arc. The arcade machine featuring the ‘90s-inspired minigame is hidden in a derelict church near the Badlands’ Protein Farm, and boots up a Wolfenstein-aping shooter called Arasaka Tower 3D featuring a pixellated Keanu Reeves and a retro soundtrack based on 2077’s own score....

You can still play FIFA 23, but only via EA Play EA is moving away from its decades-long FIFA series with the release ofEA Sports FClater this week. It seems that the publisher is taking the idea of replacing FIFA quite literally, too, as it has pulled every previous FIFA game from sale on PC storefronts Steam and Epic. While EA’s future video games won’t be able to use the FIFA name as the result of the rebranding, it won’t quite be a return to the days of Ryan Greggs and Ronaird, as EA is still able to licence individual clubs, leagues and players for their sanctioned appearance in EAFC....
