Pick up the 32-in Samsung Odyssey G7 gaming monitor for £499 after a £100 discount

A great price for a 2560x1440 240Hz DisplayHDR 600 VA QLED panel. The Samsung Odyssey G7 is one of my favourite monitors, and I picked one up from Amazon the last time it was discounted. This week the 32-in model has been discounted to a similar price, so I thought I should let you all know about it! So: why is this monitor so good? For me, it’s all about the panel: you get a 32-inch curved VA QLED panel, big enough that you feel suitably immersed without running into the compatibility issues endemic to ultrawide aspect ratios and with excellent contrast, so dark scenes look properly black instead of grey....

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened remake now has a trailer and Kickstarter

Frogwares are crowdfunding due to the invasion of Ukraine My first encounter with Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes games was theConsolevania drubbing of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, but the series has come a long way since.Alice loved last year’s Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, which stars a young, hot Holmes. As CJreported last week, Frogwares now intend to close the circle by pitting hot Holmes against (hot?) Cthulhu creatures in a remake of 2007’s The Awakened....

The Electronic Wireless Show episode 196: the games we'd like to play for the first time again

[Lego Batman voice] First try! The Sims 4's new patch fixes the incest

As well as some other bugs As Rebecca explained, The Sims 4 has had an on-again, off-again “incest glitch” for a long time, and the recent High School Years expansion was just its latest appearance. Turbo Golf Racing and Shenzhen I/O are now on Game Pass

Microsoft detailed more games coming this month too Though I coined the officially sanctioned genre name ‘Zachlike’, I have never finished one of their puzzle games and likely never will. I do not have the brain/patience for these but I respect the hell out of them. I know big-brain boy Brendy was a fan of Shenzhen I/O,calling it"a polished and compelling puzzler". This is the second Zachtronics game to hit Game Pass, after the studio’s final game (which might be a hazy term) debuted on the service at launch in July....

Two Point Campus review: a relaxed management sim bursting with silliness and seminars

I predict a strong turnout on Open Day Two Point Campustrades the operating rooms of its predecessorTwo Point Hospitalfor lecture theatres and decrepit dorms. But its foundations remain the same: you’re a manager with a budget and you’ve got to turn the fortunes of increasingly prestigious – and in some cases, bonkers – institutions around. Of course, this time you’re not dealing with injured mummies and lazy surgeons, you’re in charge of running university campuses (campi?...

MSI Oculux NXG253R review: Nvidia Reflex is sharp, but 360Hz is still unnecessary

A good-looking gaming monitor that overdoes it on speed and price Even if you’re not “into” PC gaming hardware, spend enough time in its orbit and you’ll eventually develop a healthy scepticism for a specific type of electro-trickery. The kind that promises, naturally with the right purchases, to help you shoot better or drive cars faster or generally be a more PRO ELITE WINNER in competitive games. For me, there have been two such technologies I’ve never really bought into: ultra-high 360Hz monitor refresh rates, and Nvidia Reflex, a kind of setup-wide latency reduction system....
