23 years after its first release Re-Voltis a remote control car racing game released in 1999 to mixed reviews, but 23 years later there’s still a community devoted to it. After a nine year absence, the game has now returned to Steam and GOG. It’s apparently in less than ideal condition, but the community already have fixes for that. The immediate pleasure of Re-Volt is that it’s about remote controlled cars, which means you’re vehicles are small and tracks are set in the aisles of supermarkets, toy stores and other locations based upon the real world....

Roguelike Impact 3rd Zenless Zone Zerohas begun its closed beta. If you don’t know the name, it’s Hoyoverse’s upcoming free-to-play action-RPG which draws on their experience makingGenshin Impact(and its many antecedents) but places those combat and RPG systems within a roguelike structure. Closing out my Tour De Jeux by making my own fun I don’t think I like the gameDescendersostensibly is, but I enjoy playing. It’s a downhill mountain biking game with dangerous speeds and even more dangerous stunts, including leaping through a ring of fire over of a moving train. This is fun. The roguelikelike campaign structure this is all built into, eh, I don’t think it has added any enjoyment. But it is very fun to stack a double-backflip, slam into a rock, and watch your ragdoll corpse rocket downhill....

In early access now. I am being haunted by a cryptid. My exposure to summer camps is entirely through films and games. Summer camp culture isn’t as much of a thing in the UK, possibly because we’re fairly happy to allow our children to learn to tie knots by themselves, by affixing each other to disused railway tracks or sick trees. In any case, the summer camps I’ve seen portrayed are usually unwholesome ones, because they’re good horror fodder....

There’s no map, and you’re being hunted So much of this sounds really cool. You play as a few different characters, who have different skills but are all trying to escape Gravoi. The town has an unspecified but presumably horrific winter solstice ritual, and by switching between the characters, or teaming them up, the plan is to escape before the ritual happens. There’s no map, so you have to just learn your way around town (including a maze of underground tunnels and shortcuts), all the while being hunted bysomething....
