Out today for PC at 12pm UTC, 1pm GMT, 7am ET and 4am PT, the 1.07 patch adds Full Synchronization Challenge, a permadeath mode (originallyteased last year) that not only permakills you when you’re slain by enemies, but also deletes your save file when you commit crimes such as slaughtering civilians, or going outside of “authorised map locations”....

Six years later Rampage Edition isn’t just a straight re-release, but an expanded version with new features. According to the Steam page, Rush mode is designed to be “more accessible, fast-paced an action-packed” than the regular mode, Clash, which also returns. In-game news broadcasts point to a sinister resurgence Nose aroundHelldivers 2’s Galactic War map and you might notice that there’s a lot of empty space. Around half the celestial sphere is given over to the dominions of the Automatons and Terminids, leaving ample room for another enemy faction to be inserted via free update or paid DLC. What could that next faction be? Surely it can’t be any worse than a horde of giant bugs or a legion of robots....

Also third-person shooting with strategy Kingmakershas too much going on to easily summarise, but I’ll try. Really, though, you should just click below and watch the trailer, which will surprise and delight you with its twists and scope in a way my words will not. Watched it? Good. So, Kingmakers is a combination of medieval-era war simulation, strategy game, citybuilder, and third-person modern military shooter. Who better to lead us in this game ofMedieval: Total War, than this time traveller with a pickup truck, a helicopter, several machineguns and a grenade launcher?...

The changelog is only 32 pages long! Topping the list are the two new masteries: Warlock and Falconer. You’ll unlock both of these new additions once you’ve maxed out the Acolyte and Rogue base classes. Katharine’s already decided she’s going tobeeline for the Falconer, a fast-paced assassin who fights alongside a feathered pal. While the Warlock wields curse magic, with one spell that ruptures the earth, then uses the spine of your enemies to lash foes....

A record breaking year The gross revenue for each game was generated in the “calendar year alone”, and is a new record. For those bad at maths, those 500 games generated at least $1.5 billion in gross revenue. There are a handful of other statsincluded in the full annual summary. Steam surpassed 33 million concurrent users for the first time, and the popularity of Steam sale events and fests continued to grow....

Hard driving PlayingPacific Drivereminds me of an army recruitment advert shown on British TV about 20 years ago. A group of soldiers are travelling along a road at night in a Land Rover, when suddenly they spot the enemy ahead. The front seat passenger starts barking orders at the driver: “Get off the road! Kill the lights! Through the trees!”. You sense the panic as the camera, inside the vehicle, jolts with the suspension on the rough ground, and the driver fights the steering wheel to stay in control....

Cleanse the dirt heresy! My experience with Warhams isn’t flat zero - I had some minifigs when I was a teenager and played a few of the Dawn Of War video games - but I haven’t actively checked in on it for a while. I know enough to make “[x] for the [x] throne!” jokes, basically. My experience with cleaning-stuff-simPowerWash Simulatoris extensive, though, and I was excited when the crossover with Warhammer 40Kwas teased a while back....
